Since 1975 Michael Gibson has been a designer, maker, keeper and improver of gardens. He qualified as a gardener in 1978. |

He was born in Sussex and his upbringing was within a Christian group called the Community of St Hilda which had a school and a farm. This turned him into something of a landsman. |

For 15 years Michael was a smallholder and farmer keeping fowl, goats, sheep, horses and bees. His outlook is 'organic'. He calls himself a 'husbandman'. |
